I managed the content strategy and community growth for the Instagram account @cocineroenjapon, focusing on rapid audience acquisition and content optimization through structured scripting, thumbnail design, and short-form video strategy. The project aimed to build a strong content identity while accelerating organic reach within a highly competitive food and travel niche.
My responsibilities included developing high-retention scripts, creating attention-grabbing thumbnails, optimizing captions and descriptions for discoverability, and designing a scalable Reels strategy aligned with platform trends and audience behavior.
01. The Challenge
The account started with limited reach and lacked a defined content framework capable of supporting rapid growth. Content formats were inconsistent, thumbnails did not effectively capture attention, and video hooks were not optimized for retention during the critical first seconds. Additionally, operating within the saturated food content niche required a differentiated storytelling approach that could combine educational value, cultural context, and entertainment.
02. The Solutions and Results
To address these challenges, I implemented a performance-driven content system centered on scripting strategy, thumbnail psychology, and short-form video optimization. Reels were structured around strong hooks, curiosity-driven storytelling, and clear narrative progression to maximize retention and shareability. Custom thumbnails were designed to improve click-through rates and visual consistency, while captions and descriptions were optimized using keyword positioning and engagement triggers.
This integrated approach enabled rapid organic growth and improved content performance across multiple metrics, resulting in +40K followers gained within the first month, increased reach, and multiple high-performing Reels that strengthened account visibility and brand positioning.
